this 'n that
Jan. 2nd, 2006 02:19 pmNot much happening lately. Well, other than annoyances with computers and the like.
Saturday night I went to
darklady_produc's New Years Eve party. I guess it was an ok party (hers usually are), but I just couldn't get into it.
I called my ride a bit after midnight and was home not too long afterwards.
One the plus side, I'd decided to do my hair in pigtails(?) rather than my usual ponytail. I worked ok. It'd work better without the receeding hairline... :-(
I'm keeping it that way for now. I kind of like it. It's kinda nice having the hair brushing against the back of my ears and the side of my neck. Though having it hanging in front when I lean over is going to take some getting used to.
It does have the advantage that unlike my usual ponytail, it doesn't wind up with a "knot" right under the strap for the CPAP headgear. Which is nice because that "knot" tends to get pressed uncomfortably into the back of my neck if I lay on my back.
The only other way of doing my hair that doesn't do that is a "high" ponytail. And since I actually have more trouble getting one of those to look right, I think I'm going to keep the pigtails.
I even went outside with them (I've done pigtails and braids before, but always hid them under my hat or something.). I had to drop a bunch of bill payments in the corner mailbox and hit the Albertson's for a few things on the way back. Nobody seemed to notice.
And a bit ago when I was coming back from dumping a load of laundry in the laundry room, one of the other tenants said hi. And she merely commented that my hair was getting long.
So I guess this is another of the "Nobody will notice"/"nobody will care" type touches I can get away with.
