May. 12th, 2005 12:32 amFinally got a copy of Roddenberry's old pilot episode for "Genesis II" (from 1973) bit of a shock when the main character introduced himself as "Dylan Hunt".
But now that I think about it, it sort of makes sense. "Genesis II" was about hunt getting trapped in suspended animation for a long time and then helping put the world back together. Same goes for the second attempt Roddenberry made a year or so later "Planet Earth".
So "Andromeda" was just moving it out into space.
And it's not exactly original. Track down a copy of the *original* "Buck Rogers" book. Same idea.
