Ok, so I'm weird

This morning, while coming half awake from a dream I found myself thinking something along the lines of:

Ok, if the parent of a parent is a grandparent, is a friend of a friend a grandfriend?

Ah, the logic of dreams...

Watching the news. They are covering a shooting. Not unusual. Except that the area covered in crime scene tape is all of a block away.

Since there's a fire station just around the corner, I didn't think much of the sirens a couple hours back. Now I know it wasn't just an engine heading out.

Oh well, it's not like the neighborhood I used to live in. There, gunshots were common night-time noises.
