While reading some stuff in a Fidonet echo, I came across this:

In the 1960s, a student at Harvard Law School addressed parents and alumni with these words:

The streets of our country are in turmoil. The universities are filled with students rebelling and rioting. Communists are seeking to destroy our country. Russia is threatening us with her might. And the republic is in danger. Yes! danger from within and without. We need law and order! Without law and order our nation cannot survive.

Getting ready for Darklady's last party Lin was wishing she could borrow a wheelchair, since her fibro was acting up.

Yesterday, I spotted a post on pdx.forsale from someone who's always selling odd stuff. (he goes to auctions to get various lots of stuff and they often include the weird, bizarre etc). He was offering a nice wheelchair for $25.

I immediately sent him an email. I got it, and since we'd dealt before, he made it $20 for me. It was delivered about an hour ago. and Lin and Kermit will be here soon for a trip out to Fry's.

Lin's thrilled (and is cheerfully paying me the $20. I didn't ask her to, but I know better than to object:-)

She hasn't told Kermit yet, and expects a bit of static from him as he doesn't realize that there are times when she really *can't* move around much on her own. This will give her some extra options.

She may use it at the store. And I'll cheerfully push her around, because it'll give *me* something to lean on. Which will spare my legs.

Anyway, that's my Good Deed(tm) for the day. Maybe for the week. :-)
