This and that
Dec. 14th, 2002 10:00 pmYesterday while out running around with Kathy, I "indulged" myself a bit.
I splurged on some DVD sets. One of them is the (complete* run of "The Avengers" episodes with Diana Rigg (18 DVDs!).
I'm watching the second DVD now. Steed in a kilt and chained helplessly... oh *my*...
And Mrs. Peel isn't bad either. <g>
I also got Cosmos (a 7 DVD set) and the first season of the original Outer Limits.
And to think that the stuff I went into Tower Records to get cost only $7....
I also took Kathy to dinner. At Outback (over her protests at the cost). She'd called me to tell me that she's being laid off (sort of, they are closing down her part of the company, and she's on the "close it down" team, so she's got 30-90 more days of work). I figured she deserved something nice too offset the downer.
Poor Kathy. apparently *every* job she's ever had has ended by the company being bought out or going out of business. :-(
We went back to her place after dinner and she got to watch an Avengers episode she's wanted to see for ages.
I worked on the BBS system. Turned out the modem was fine, but the serial port was shot. Luckily, we had an old serial card I could transplant into that computer. I definitely need to replace it.
