Monday I picked up my blood glucose testing stuff.

Later at Lin's place, I went to test myself for the first time And the big tough masochist couldn't manage to press the button on the lancing gizmo.

I fially had to ask Lin to do it. And found that it didn't hurt as much as I'd thought.

I'd been expecting something like the times (years back) they checked my clotting time Basicly the tech would jab your fingertip with a needle. And it hurt!

In contrast, the lancet is merely annoying.

I'd been a bit worried about my readings from two hours after breakfast on Tue & Wed, but it turns out they are just fine. My bg is *supposed* to be that high then. I'd gotten the "peak after eating" range and the "fasting" range confused.

I'm sort of winging it on how often to test right now. My doctor hadn't thought I needed a meter "because there's not anything you could do about the level anyway". Idiot.

I got the meter and will be using it to check on how my diet is affecting my bg level. So far, it's looking good. Next time I see him, I'll see if he has any recommendations for testing. Though I expect that the class on Monday will cover it well enough for my purposes.
