Why are some people so strident?

I've just added a filter to my mail software to shunt messages from one poster on the TML to my "junk" folder. I'll still glance at them, but given that he's been doing nothing but decreasing the signal to noise ration of the list since he joined, I expect this to make my reading of the list far more pleasant.

I swear these people want to play word games more than discuss the list topic.

There are three posters whom I consider likely candidates for your filtering. My first guess would be the one who has generated much heat and little light in the current near-c projectile debate. The second guess would be a (very) certain Dune skeptic. My third guess would be a poster who uses a French loan word as a nom de Net.

I don't use a software filter for the TML, preferring to use my meatware filter.

One of your guesses might just be correct. :-)

But the filter is just "sorting" things to a different folder.
