May Day is not Beltane.

May Day is the first of May. Beltane is the point when the sun is halfway between the spring equinox and the summer solstice.

Beltane won't be until the 4th or 5th of may this year, depending on what time zone you are in.

Well, I got that info from the web site I listed. But I just ran the date/time thru an astronomy program I have and got a solar longitude of 45°0.0' for May 5, at 4:06 am PDT. that's a whole 9 minute difference from the web site, but may hours difference from your program.

At 8:50 PDT today, the sun is at 44°20.3' according to my program.

I'm to lazy to dig out the calculator and the book to figure it "by hand".
