Weight stuff
Mar. 19th, 2004 07:59 pmAs those of you who've met me know, I'm overweight. When my doctor commented that I was "a bit overweight" some months back, I replied, "No, I'm a *lot* overweight".
And it *does* interfere with my life. But I'm over 350, so standard scales are useless. I'd been intending to shell out the bucks for a heavy duty medical scale ever since I saw one on a site linked to from a web page
eleri used to have. But I'd been trying to find the bookmark.
Last night I gave up and just did a google search and started weeding thru the hits. I found what I wanted at not *too* outrageous a price. And I ordered it.
So in about a week, I'll know *exactly* how heavy I am. And I can start tracking things.
If I can lose just a pound a week, I'll be at what *I* consider a livable weight in a couple of years.
I won't be near what the silly charts say I should weigh, but I consider them to be badly broken. That's one of the reasons I've picked up one of those body fat meters.

Date: 2004-03-21 08:22 pm (UTC)The body fat meter was something like $20 at Radio Shack.
The scale, betweem having to read above 300, and my preference for an electronic one (partly because it takes up less space due to not having the "pedestal" part) cost quite a bit.
But the body fat meter does require that you have at least a rough idea of your weight.
