The Multnomah County Republican Party is claiming that the local school district is "brainwashing" kids against the second amendment.

Why? Because of the student walkouts about the Parkland school shootings.

They are claiming it wasn't the kids idea, but that teachers and staff set it up.

They are talking about a lawsuit, and filing public records requests to try to "prove" this.

I'm with the school district on this one. It was the kids idea and teachers and other staff may have helped the kids with planning, but they didn't talk the kids into it.

This is beyond "grasping at straws".

Considering their they're trying to paint the shooter as a victim, and those that got shot as vicious bullies that drove him to the point of snapping, and thus make it all their fault, all to discredit their movement.

Yeahhh... they are way below the bottom of the barrel here.

I think there are two factors at work here:

First, they don't "get" the concept that people can *honestly* think that differently than they do. So it "has" to be something done with malicious intent.

Second, they are realizing that if even *kids* are rejecting their narrative to this extent, the Republican Party is doomed.

And yes, those two things do contradict themselves to some extent. It's not *logic* playing out here.
