So much for that idea

I had a doctors appointment today and decided to run some errands afters.
Best Buy had a good price for a 32 gig flash drive. Turned out I'd missed the sale on that one, but they had others at the same price.
On the way from the MAX stop to Best Buy I stopped in at a Verizon store. I'd been wondering for a while if it was possible to get one of their tablets and just pay extra on my monthly bill instead of ponying up the money up front.
Good news, it was. and an 8" tablet would only set me back an extra $10.41 a month. added to my current bill, that, that still be less that $40. I could swing that.
After getting the drive at best buy (and treating myself to a burger at Red Robin) I stopped back in at the Verizon store. I had two question (well, two important ones, the ones about the hardware were less important)
The first question was if I could turn off the 4g internet. Yep, iI could, so that would keep me from running up data chareges.
Then I asked about data charges. The guy loocked up my account info and did some figuring. I *had* to get at least a 1 gig a month data plan. And that'd bring my monthly bill up to $60.
We'll that killed that. I still need something to replace my old Nokia. It still works, but the wifi is useless because if there's an 802.11g network around it can't connecty to anything. :-(
Guess I'll art stuff on ebay.
I don't need the 4g stuff. Just wifi, and bluetooth would be nice.

Kindle Fire 7 reads txt, doc, mobi, and pdf formats; possibly others, but I don't know for sure.
Also, Kindle Fire 7 has wifi and bluetooth.

Also, I'd really rather not be stuck with a system that caters to the DRM games that Google and amazon like to play.
