New Year's party aftermath

Brooke went to a new year's party (details in a post under my kink filter).
The party was fine. It was what happened after that was not good.
This will explain why I haven't posted the last day or three
When I left for the party., I had to call my second choice of cab companies because my preferred company had not merely a busy signal, but a *fast* busy. This was at around 8:30 and should have been a sign.
When the club started to shut down at 2 am, I discovered that Radio cab was *still* fast busy. And Broadway cab was now busy. Someone else had a list of cab companies they'd printed out (and informed me that they'd called an hour before and been told that it'd be an hour to two hours).
I finally got thru to a cab company (out of six or seven only *one* was answering their phones). Turned out to be the same one the folks I got the list from had gotten hold of. I got told it'd be 45 minutes to an hour. This was at 2:30.
At 3 the owner chased the last of us out. And the other folks had gotten their cab just a few minutes before (alas they were going in the opposite direction of where I live). I called to check on my cab and got told it'd be about 20 minutes.
At 3:30 I called to find out where my cab was. And got told it'd broken down and it'd be another hour...
Let me describe the situation. I was standing outside in a parking lot, with no place to sit. In a cold wind. Wearing a black lace dress and a cloak. (I was *so* glad I hadn't given in to the impulse to leave the cloak at home).
This was not the best part of town. And I *couldn't* keep standing. Due to my weight I have real problems with standing or walking too slowly.
Oh yes, I also had a large bag with shoulder strap that had about 10-15 pounds of "toys" in it.
I decided (probably not very rationally) to walk home. I live about 5 miles as the crow flies from the club. Having to follow the streets, it's probably more like 7 miles. And it's about 100 feet higher than the club...
I had to sit down or at least lean against something for a moment every block or two. I got home about quarter after 6.
On the bright side, the cloak was mostly warm enough. It was too cold to rain, and only tiny bits of snow came down while I was en-route (after I got home we got several inches of snow).
Also, I am very glad that my feet are so big. Because if they weren't, I'd have found a pair of heels by now and I'd have been wearing them.
As it is, walking to the store (all of a few hundred feet away) and back is about all I can manage. And I'd rather not do that.
Happy fucking new year. :-(
