I believe my published novel, "I'll Tell You No Lies," mentions a tech called "digital paper." It looks and feels like paper, but is nanotech. Easy to make with matter synthesizers, too. (Matter synthesizers are like Star Trek replicators.) Primarily used for "digital books," which look and feel like paper books, but are basically e-readers for thousands of books. Since the digital paper emits light, it could easily do the things in that dream. Hell, it could do more than a few seconds of video/audio; the nanites its made of have an astounding amount of memory. A single sheet of digital paper could probably store and display an entire movie at least.

At any rate, whether it's mentioned in ITYNLs or not, that is a tech in my Nokwahl/Traipah series. In that future, digital paper is everywhere, and all kinds of people use it, because in that time it's no more difficult to make than real paper (though admittedly you can make real paper without a matter synthesizer).
