Sometimes I hate my muse...

The other day I managed to arrive at difficult points in both of my "active" stories.
In one, I have the protagonist having to deal with a girl with some body image issues. Which btw, was not a subplot I had any inkling off before it flowed out of my fingers.
In the other, the protagonist is about to revisit someplace that only 24 hours before she had a series of *very* traumatic events occur in her life.
I can write the second, but since I empathize with the character, it's not going to be a lot of fun.
The former? I had expected that turn, and given that I have body image problems of my own, trying to come up with what the protagonist is going to tell his friend is *not* easy.
so, as I said above, I hate my muse...
