After six or seven hours there's little trace of the skyglow at the point of sunset. (I'm sure *someone* marked it for reference)

By an hour or so later it's back, slowly strengthening.

It's gotten quite chilly (say 41F/5C) by the time the western sky is brightening. Say around 12 hours after sunset (none of those with watches or other timepieces thought to note the time of sunset) the sun rises, exactly where it set.
