May Day is the first of May. Beltane is the point when the sun is halfway between the spring equinox and the summer solstice.

Beltane won't be until the 4th or 5th of may this year, depending on what time zone you are in.

I knew it'd been a while since I balanced my checkbook. So I expected that getting everything straightened out would take a bit.

Then I fired up the spreadsheet I use to balance it. And winced. The last entry was in *August*...

Six hours later, I've got everything up to date. And I've got a very sore back from hunching over the receipts, printouts and other stuff.
