Had several nice things happen today.

I got woken up by the doorbell. Pulled on some pants and went down to find that my Amazon order had arrived.

This Scepter'd Isle by Mercedes Lackey and Roberta Gellis. This is sort of a "prequel (by several hundred years) to the Serrated Edge series. It's also got the *fifth* Baen Free Library CD in it.

The other book is Irresistible Forces edited by Catherine Asaro. It's a collection of Romance stories with an SF or Fantasy theme. I bought it because the first story in it is the long awaited Winterfair Gifts by Lois McMaster Bujold. It's set at the time of Mile Vorkosigan's wedding. Great story, if a bit short :-)

I'm about halfway thru the book, and so far all the stories have been at least ok.

The other good news? Well, Comcast finally did the upgrade here in Portland. It's a month late, but we now have 3 megabit download. Still only 256k upload, but I can live with that.

Anyway, I've got my romance collection to finish reading...
