Double trouble
Aug. 20th, 2002 05:32 pmJust got a call from Lin.
She was calling from Missoula. Seems the engine in their van died. $2000 for repairs. Seems the odd "ticking" noise the engine had been making was a rod... Ouch.
She'll be stuck there for over a week. Kermit will be going home some other way, ASAP because he needs to get back to his job.
She told me they also had a blowout on one of the tires, and wound up having to replace all 4, as apparently they were worn well beyond what they should have been. At least he got a discount because the tires were Les Schwab, and so was the dealer they went to to get the new ones.
I'm getting ready to head out and spend a couple of hours each way on the bus & MAX to go to their place and feed and water their cat.
At least she told me where the box of stuff she was going to give me anyway was, so I can haul some of it back with me. <g>
Good thoughts for Lin and Kermit, please.
