Speaking of garlic as an ingredient, a local pizza parlor that we held a lot of BBS parties at back in the day used *huge* chunks of some things as toppings. like chunks of burger or sausage the size of the last joint of my thumb (and I have large hands).

They also put on whole cloves of elephant garlic.
