I love that one of the cartoons for safe handling has one sitting in direct sunlight with a check mark, rather than x-ed out. :-)
As I understand it, the data layer is essentially rock (obsidian or something?).
The burn side is *black* before you burn it and the burned areas are silvery gray after burning.
Now we can burn discs that are as stabled as *pressed* ones. Actually, *more* stable.
