Well that's done

Earlier in the week I had managed to weed all of the plot but where the strawberries are *and* transplant the "stray" strawberry plants into gaps in that section. I wasn't too worried if they'd survive, we've got too [censored] many of them anyway.
Thursday I hoped to plant the rest of the starts Fay'd picked up but it was raining a bit more than I wanted to deal with. I did go ahead and set them out in roughly the spots I'd plant them, but left it at that.
Today, it's obviously been raining off and on, but it wasn't raining when I went out a bit ago. so I managed to get them all planted.
The two zucchini starts are near the top edge of the plot. I decided to tuck the two lemon cucumbers over near the tomatoes.
I'd *planned* on setting up a row alongside the strawberries with a habnada on each end and the broccoli in between. I still did it but things aere a *bit* more crowded than I'd planned on. I hadn't realized that there were *six* broccoli starts, not four. (Hey they were crowded all together in a carrier)
It went a lot faster than I expected, and I was having a much easier time getting down and getting back up.A little of that is that I finally gave up on the old "everyday" pair of shoes I'd been using since the Crocs wore out. Having the sides of *both* half split open *and* the sole of one cracked clear thru was just too much.
So I dug out my *good* shoes. A couple pairs of Doc Martens. So "less nice" pair is my everyday shoes for a while.
Anyway, the soles being stiffer may have helped me getting up. Not 100% sure. And I may be regaining some flexibility.
Once the inspection quits hanging over our heads (and they repair an outlet in the living room) next priority is to get a portable air conditioner.
After that, shoes have moved up the list. I need to get a pair of crocs (they are just too comfortable and useful). I need to replace my ancient cross trainers (they are in good shape, but a bit too narrow and it hurts to wear them for more than an hour or two. And I need to get another pair of black shoes that are "androgynous".
Oh yeah, I gotta start replacing my jeans, too. Been way too long since I got a new pair and the ones I have are rapidly reaching "unusable" status. That means multiple trips to the big & tall store (56x30 jeans are neither common nor cheap).
At least there's a shoe store next to them that has large shoes, too.
