I've heard talk about prohibiting people on "the terrorist watch list", which is somewhat the same. Strangely enough, 73 employees of the Dept of Homeland Security are on that list. The best idea is to indict the individuals that are truly a threat, and then they automatically cant legally purchase firearms.
