Sapphire & Steel encounter The Doctor

It's a *huge* reach to have them in the same universe, mind you, but if they somehow were (maybe the Doctor has slippoed into their universe) I can't see things going well.

LOL yeah, if they were in the same universe, they'd be at constant loggerheads with the Timelords and The Doctor, not to mention Jack Harkness. :-D

By any chance are you familiar with the 60s TV show Time Tunnel? Somehow I doubt that the doctor or Sapphire & Steel would approve of Project Tick-Tock.

Sapphire and Steel's obvious solution is to send the misplaced mortals back where and when they should be. Since that's what the protagonists of Time Tunnel wanted anyway there's not much conflict or drama there.

A friend pointed out that this would have been a cool call-back for the show Seven Days; at some point when their time travel sphere was out of service yet again, the base personnel could have gone to the other secret time travel project on their desert military base. Imagine people circa 1999 dusting off the old Project Tick-Tock gear and commenting, "This thing never worked right..."

On the other hand, if you go back to the opening sequences for the Time Tunnel pilot & first episode, that base was insanely huge. They used the same tricks used for the Krell installation in Forbidden Planet to make it look like things extended hundreds of feet down.

For that matter, Time Tunnel was set a ways in the future.

Oops, just checked the wiki and it *wasn't* set in the future (not enough to matter). But I was right about the base. "The base for Project Tic-Toc is a huge, hidden underground complex in Arizona, 800 floors deep and employing over 36,000 people."

We only regularly saw one room the size of a high school gym and a handful of people. The military base probably had other stuff going on.

That's called "TV budget".

But when Dr Whatshisname arrived at the base in the first episode, we have a shot of him going over a walkway and you can see all 800 floors, and a number of elevators on the sides of the shaft that is bigger than a football field.

There's NOTHING that's a huge reach for crossing over Doctor Who with anything. If you can cross Doctor Who with My Little Pony, there's nothing you can't cross.

Insofar as the show, I haven't seen it, but from the description (A) yes, they'd be at odds, and (B) they would be F'ing Terrified once they realized what the Doctor is.

The show can be found various places. And frankly, Given how out and out *cryptic* it was about what Sapphire Steel and the rest were, it's quite possible that they would scare the Doctor.

Keep in mind that they can travel thru time & space *on their own*. they aren't omnipotent or even close. But they are quite powerful. they just have vulnerabilities.

If you can track them down somewhere, they are worth a watch. For who is playing them, if nothing else. :-)
