Het privileged [censored]s

Over on the Antir mailing list someone mentioned something about wearing ribbons for "Inspirational Equality" at an upcoming Crown event.

It was mostly ignored but someone posted asking what it was. It was explained it was about allowing same sex consorts in the SCA.

Which led to several people including a couple who are normally "fight the establishment, stick up for the underdog" types to post complaints.

One even used the phrase "rub your sexual preferences in our faces".

That's when I wrote several pointed replies.

Oh yes, another one somehow got the idea this would mean having what he referred to as "male Queens" (except he called it transgendered queens first).

I had a few things to say about that too.

*sigh*

I suppose it would be unhelpful of me to point out that reactions should vary by persona era. *grin* Although it would be fun to have some guys play an erastes and eromenos relationship, and watch the reactions...

Sure! Not necessarily two, of course; "triumvirate literally means 'three men rule' and there are examples other than the Roman, common enough that English still keeps the word around. "Duumvirate" is a much rarer word. Go figure.

Of course, there's also the Roman Tetrarchy, when Diocletian chopped up the Empire into four bits, but pointless history wanking is enjoyed only in colleges and the SCA. Hey, wait a second...

Why is it that gay people are always accused of "rubbing your sexual preferences in our faces" when the default in society is to assume heterosexuality and everything from media to cards to everything else follows suit? :P (Rhetorical question, obviously.)

I saw a T-shirt years ago that read "I don't mind straight people as long as they act gay in public." I can only hope it's still being made somewhere.

Sadly, Teh Bigotry ain't confined to mundanes. I used to expect better of Faire folk and Fen.

Faire folk and Fen. We're used to thinking of such people as being a bit more kindly than the mundanes. Guess What? H8ers are sort of inescapable in our shitty world. I've my shedload of kinks that arguably might have me more hated than any simply LGBT alone person. One of those kinks is being shut down ice cold by nonconsensual sexuality.. Compared to Rape Apologists and antichoicers that seem to also hate us- I'm PROUD of that kink I have.. Heh.. I wonder how freaked they would be seeing my 4 quart enema bag with the dildo nozzle and an inline squeeze bulb. Yeah, that would melt them into a homophobic puddle eh?

Agreed on the case outside of case where there's consent to "surrender" consent..

Nods on the pressure filling bit, Huge pressure at fast flows can be rather not fun if it goes in low, now if it's through a decently long colon tube..

See= there's a difference between being "EEEWW" about whatever melts our butter in kink, and promoting discrimination over such things.

I'm kinky enough to consider that weirdly strange thing called a relationship as a mandatory prequel to sexuality. With no difference to me about the genders or self-images of the WILLING participants in relationships,, They love each other- they have my benediction. And at the same time, I feel no desire to disrespect others who don't need that.

But that's balanced against a desire to see rapists castrated by belt sander or perhaps Hydrofluoric acid. Or am I overly kind?
