About that mess in Florida..
Ok, it appears that the media coverage we got here gave a different impression than what the folks closer to the problem heard.
From what I saw, the husband was saying the wife had said she didn't want to live if she wound up "like that". While the parents were saying that the daughter was responsive.
I thought I'd heard something about the doctors thinking there wasn't any hope.
Given how often even *written" instructions seem to get ignored, I drew my own conclusions.

You can hear audio clips of her trying to talk, and see pictures and videos of how hopeless she is, and you can read about all her husband's attempts to deny her second opinions and therapies, etc.
This is why I don't believe in euthanasia.
If you are able to walk around and decide for yourself that you want to die because of X diagnosis and you kill yourself, okay. Not much to be argued with, there. But I was never so surprised at how much I wanted to LIVE as when I found myself on the brink of death.
