Pork chops

I stumbled across a great deal at the store. Boneless pork chops for $0.99/lb.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to cook them in different ways. I have some spices, but it's pretty mixed bag. Nost of them are things a friend unloaded on me when she was consolidating things a while back. I also don't have stuff like flour.

Still, I suispect that there are things I could do if someone told me about them.

This recipe (http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/apple_thyme_pork.html) is really good (I can vouch for it personally.) Most of Eating Well's recipes are good from my experience.

Sage is good with porkchops. You day you don't have things like flour. What DO you have? Bread, cornmeal, tomato sauce, pasta, any canned vegetables, onions, garlic salt?

I make porkchops very simply, season with salt and pepper and maybe a little garlic powder then pan fry them until done (no pink inside and off white with browned highlights outside.) Add a vegetable or a salad and you're golden.

The best ribs I ever had (non-barbecued) had been made by marinating them first in apple juice; the same would work for pork chops, I expect. Marinate for a few hours, then broil... easy, tasty.

Our grocery store has had that deal for the last MONTH! My freezer is STUFFED!

My kids like this:

Mix a cup of italian seasoned bread crumbs with a cup of parmesan cheese (the kind you sprinkle on spaghetti). Dip the chops into some scrambled egg, roll them in the crumb/cheese mix, put on a baking sheet, bake for an hour at 350.

Another excellent recipe is pork adobo.

Mix a cup of soy sauce with a cup of white vinegar and as much garlic as you want. (Lots is a good place to start). Toss in some nice sliced mushrooms. Fresh is best, canned works too. And a BIG sliced onion.

Cut the chops into strips and marinate for a couple of hours. Bake in the oven at 350 for about an hour to an hour and a half. Serve over rice, WITH the marinating sauce.
