I have a copy of XP, mostly by accident. I bought a used laptop off ebay, and due to a glitch with Paypal, I forgot to tell the seller whether I wanted Win2k or XP. So he sent one with XP.
The new desktop I put together a few months back is running Win2k. I'm still tracking down a couple of glitches, but it's mostly running fine.
I'd suggest an upgrade to Win2k on the 98 box.
And what with 2k now being the oldest "supported" MS OS, I really need to get around to setting up the Linux box I've been meaning to set up since forever.
Well, having XP on both boxes would make things simpler for us ("us" including the less-computer savvy members of the household *g*). The kid would be happy if the media software that runs on the main box also ran on the old box, and it didn't crash several times a day.
If you have the XP install disk and aren't using it, and it's all good and legal-like as far as MS is concerned, I'd be willing to buy it off you. That way, you'd be getting the $$ instead of MS. Though we'd have to work out a price, since no matter who's getting the money I can't really afford to pay full price for it :-(. Time to take this off-board, I think.
