Besides what Ace said, there';s also the unfortunate fact that black "ghetto" culture seems to be a *lot* more homophobic than all nut the worst "rednecks" :-(

I guess the disadvantage to having not lived in the ghetto that I am completely ignorant as to the language and behaviour that happens there.

I used to live near the corner of MLK & Fremont back in the mid 70s. Back then the area was *far* more "ghetto" than it is now.

I could *hear* those sentences in my head. The wording alone is enough to get that "accent" popping up in my head.

Iffen you say so. Alas, while I can kinda grasp that mindset, it's very alien to me.

My masculinity wasn't much in doubt from an early age. Most of the other kids figured I didn't have much (and I wasn't terribly interested in getting any).

As for pride and self-worth, lets not go there. At least not in the "high depression risk" part of the year.

Seriously, I don't see how it can be anything but a compliment to find out that other people, regardless of gender or anything else, find you attractive. I know I'm always happy when someone pays attention to me, even if they're not necessarily my type. It's still a compliment, regardless. :-)

I've also seen someone pay for the admission fee and fill out the waiver and then proceed to "kill" the activities at a *large* dungeon simple by wandering thru and looking. Nothing you could put your finger on just "creepy vibes".

Thankfully he got bored and left after half an hour and folks recovered quickly after he was gone.

But after that I *know* that there are people I very much don't want interested in me.
