travel question,. sort of..

A couple of friends are getting to take a Mediterranean vacation. They've asked me what I'd like brought back, with the stipulation that items be smaller, cheap and not get them in trouble with customs anywhere.

I've got no real ideas as to what there might *be* for them to bring back. So I figured I post their itinerary and see if folks can suggest stuff. Either things that you think I'd be interested in based on what you know about me, or stuff that the areas are known for.

  • Italy gets about 4 days -- Venice mostly, some time each in Genoa/Sevona, Rome/environs, short time in Naples/Pompeii, train across North Italy

  • 1 day in Egypt, between Alexandria and Cairo

  • 1 day in Antalya, Turkey

  • Half day on the Greek island of Rhodes

  • Half day on the southern portion of Cyprus

  • Half day, depending on schedule vagaries, in Nice, France. Hopefully some of that is outside the airport.

  • 2 hours Vatican City

  • 7 days or so on Liner in Mediterranean

Turkish delight with nuts in. Italian coffee. French teeshirt with french writing on.We bought lots of clothes in the supermarket in France, and they were very reasonable.
I think leather is cheap in Turkey, and in the market might get nice earrings for Brooke.
