Blood wine

hypotheses: Klingon blood-wine is a form of mead. It's made by fermenting the "honey of the Klingon equivalent of vulture bees. Unlike their Terran equivalent the Klingon "bees" do produce a sufficient surplus so that it can be harvested without damaging the hive. They are also domesticated by the Klingon and given less desirable cuts of meat.
