Yahoo groups
Yahoo is killing a good chunk of the functionality of Yahoo Groups.
Starting October 28th, they'll no longer accept user supplied content (files, photos and a bunch of other things).
December 14th they'll be deleting all of those things.
So if there are any Yahoo groups you have been intending to get content from, better do it soon.

"Answer not clear"
Go to *any* Yahoo group you belong to and there's be a notice and the top of the page with a "more info" link.
From the looks of it, yes, even the messages are going away. They'll be "pure"email lists, without even a digest mode, much less archived messages. The bit about "no email updates" has me concerned as well.
Basically, I'm using my already owned copy of PG-Offline to grab content and messages (I'm only a few months out of date there) and continue working my way thru my long list of groups as many times as I can before the 28th. Then I'll make a final pass to get the last things uploaded. Once I've got that, I'll nuke my yahoo accounts and group memberships.
