Looking for aide

For a story idea I have I need to know what you call someone who helps a disabled person. Specifically one who doesn't have hand (and can't have prosthetics for story reasons).

I know they'd be an aide, but what *kind* of aide?

No aide is the right term. but there's a modifier that goes before it (example: mobility aide) I just can't think of the right term...
