Why we need "bathroom bills"

First we have someone in a state without gender identity protections (in fact where the law says you have to use the bathroom your genitals match)

As several folks point out, having her have to use the mens room is incredibly unsafe.

Here we have an employer trying it in a state that *dies* protect gender identity.

As several folks point out, the employer is in violation of the law (I even found a link to a statement on the state Human Rights Commission's web site that directly addresses the issue.

That's horrid. :( I hope for the day that transpeople are treated with more respect and dignity.

That makes me wonder how my aunt dealt with her transition; I'm not sure what the laws are in Canada on that front. Perhaps I'll ask her one day.

Hmm, I wonder if the words "hippa violation" would help quell the spread of personal medical information at those places of employment...
