This is a professional grade recorder. Assuming there are no problems with stuff like background noises, you can take the files from it and after very little "massaging" in a sound editor use them to master an album.
It also records into a memory card. And will get hours onto the card.

I like the idea of a good "record to memory card" portable. But not enopugh to buy it at that price.
My first MP3 player (which I need to get sent back to the factory to have the batteries replaced since they no longer hold a charge) could record with a built-in mike, but I wouldn't make any bets about the resulting sound quality.
