Silly programmers wanted

I pointed a friend at the scrabble keyboard. She said it looked neat, but she'd be trying to figure out her word score and her typing was slow enough anyway.

Which lead me to a silly idea.

Any programmers out there feel like cobbling together an applet that'll monitor the keyboard do a running tally of Scrabble "score" for what the user is typing?
