A Kitten's Prayer

(from an email)

A Kitten's Prayer
Now I lay me down to sleep,
The king-size bed is soft and deep..
I sleep right in the center groove
My human cannot hardly move!

I've trapped her legs, she's tucked in tight
And here is where I pass the night
No one disturbs me or dares intrude
Till morning comes and "I want food!"

I sneak up slowly to begin
my nibbles on my human's chin.
She wakes up quickly,
I have sharp teeth

And my claws I will unsheath
For the morning here
and it's time to play
always seem to get my way.

So thank you Lord for giving me
This human person that I see.
The one who hugs me and holds me tight
And sacrifices her bed at night!

Free access tool

Just found out about a free screenreader program:

System Access to Go

Haven't tried it yet, but you can be sure I'll be checking it out as a way to test my pages for accessibility.

This is why we need same sex marriage

http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2008/jun/25/woman-sues-miami-hospital-after-being-denied-visit/

Note that the partner *had* a power of attorney, which is *supposed* to be sufficient.

If they'd been a straigh couple, no problem. But being gay, even though they'd jumped through the sort of (expensive) hoops that are *supposed* to be sufficient...

I am especially annoyed with the person decrying her suing a public hospital for money.

Duh. It's the *only* useful thing she *can* sue them for. They can't bring back her partner. Nor give her and the kids the time together they lost.

So suing for money sets up the possibility that the hospital won't be such assholes to the *next* gay couple.
