Sky Captain and The World of Tomorrow
I took Kathy to see the movie this afternoon. Great fun.
Now for a few comments that might be spoilers...
Okay a few suspension of disbelief glitches. I enjoyed the movie anyway, but they did cause momentary "Say what" flashes. And some random comments.
1. There's a *reason* they never used the dirigible mooring mast on the Empire State Building. Seems that the building causes *massive* updrafts. As in the dirigible would be trying to stand on its nose.
2. Polly Perkins during the first attack. My *immediate* thought as she started dashing around heedless of the danger... "Lois Lane syndrome". :-)
3. The underwater planes bit. Cute, but why don't the wings come off? And what are the engines using for air?
4. Polly's camera has a built in flash. Excuse me?
5. If the mine is that radioactive, Polly's going to be *real* upset when she develops that film <eg>
6. We *still* don't know if she sabotaged his plane at Nanking. When they were facing death, she said no. When she was pissed off, she said yes.
