Question for writers
Anybody else have trouble with new story ideas popping up when you *want* to write more of (or finish!) existing storylines?

Absolutely.
Go ahead and use your new plot, but aim it towards the end you want.
I know one of my stories went ten novels before I had to kill the universe just to end the neverending story. :)
