Trouble is, it was sitting right next to the computer. Literally a couple inches away. Disconnected it and moved it to a friends computer I had open on the worktable and ran a couple diagnostics.

I'd forgotten that it was originally in a media server that died from overheating. And it's my oldest 2 TB drive (possibly my oldest SATA drive)

So it's probably due for replacement anyway.
