Red dwarf flares can be worse than that. I understand they have a fair bit of x-rays as well. Not good for your colonists.

If Alpha Centauri and companions are second generation stars, *we* would be very toxic to them. All those "heavy metals" (iron and onward)

If they are third generation, like Sol, then we may have a War Against the Chtorr situation.
